Debbie Stocker

“When people hear that my background is in psychology, a flicker of awe often crosses their faces, followed by the question, ‘Can you read my mind?’ In reality, psychology hasn’t given me magical powers but I am passionate about the importance of understanding human behaviour. Organisations live and breathe by their relationships and that is what I focus on.”

Debbie understands and can analyse the science of human behaviour. Having obtained a First Class Honours degree in Psychology BSc from the University of Warwick, she specialises in enabling organisations to understand and connect with their people and environment. Combining this expertise with a strong commercial focus, Debbie’s unified approach forms the foundation of her work.

She has an exacting eye for detail and a sensitivity to the things that matter. Accomplished in quantitative and qualitative research methods, Debbie is skilled at integrating complex information to understand a real world story. She leads our Research Insights service and has conducted extensive market research across thousands of sources for diverse client briefs including natural confectionery, patient adherence, clinical neuroscience and big data.

Throughout her work, Debbie draws upon learning and knowledge from academic and practitioner research, industry best practice, and multiple other disciplines to provide a unique and balanced perspective. She is a guest lecturer at Warwick Manufacturing Group for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship MSc where, in collaboration with Matt, she teaches sessions on establishing a new business; understanding the Internet of Things; and use of cloud technology, crowdsourcing and social media to support services. She is also one of the Lead Ambassadors for the University of Warwick’s Life Sciences and Healthcare Professional Network (LSHPN).

Completing her portfolio, Debbie is a Delivery Partner for the ERDF-funded Open Innovation Project at the Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship, Coventry University. She is also an Associate of Investors in Excellence and is experienced in using the Investors in Excellence Standard.

A skilled facilitator, mentor and teacher, Debbie has tutored a select number of students in psychology, statistics, and English language skills through to Doctoral level. She has served as a mentor for The Big Deal enterprise competition and mentored a student team from Enactus. Her work has been featured on Hong Kong’s leading online education website.
